Why have I got a new account number?

In 2015 United Credit Union accepted a Transfer of Engagements to First Credit Union. United members immediately had access to First Credit Union’s products, services, low fees and great interest rates, however, we have been operating under two different systems.

We are now going through the process of moving all our United members across to the First Credit Union system, which means you will be issued with a new member number and account number.


I transfer money to my credit union account from another bank, what do I need to do?

Any direct debits or automatic payments you have set up to transfer money into your credit union account will need to be changed to go to your new account number.

You should have already received your new bank account number, give this number to your bank to change your direct debit or automatic payment.

Don’t forget to cancel your old automatic payment or direct debit!


What do I do if my payments are coming from my wages?

Simply advise payroll of your new account number to arrange for your salary deduction to be credited to your new account number.


What should I do once I have arranged for my payments to be paid into my new account?

Please call us on 0800 800 143 once you have had your payments changed so that we can complete the transfer of your account.


What if I have direct debit payments going out of my account?

If you are paying funds out of your account by direct debit (e.g. for insurance, power, phone) the company you are paying will need to cancel the current direct debit and set up a new one using your new account number.


What if I have internet or phone banking?

To access internet or phone banking on your new account give us a call on0800 800 143 and we will be able to set this up for you.


What if was using the United Mobile App?

You can still use Mobile Banking to manage your money on the go, however, you will need download the First Credit Union app. Visit the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to download the First Credit Union App.


Can I still visit the Johnsonville Branch?

Our Johnsonville Branch is no longer available to members, however, if you call us on 04 477 7073 you will still be able to deal with Tracey and her team.
